The role

TMRW Silicon is looking for a graduate or early-career IP professional (up to 3 years' experience) with an interest to start a career at the cutting edge of technology.

This is an on-site role, working every day alongside our teams. Reporting directly to the Senior IP Counsel, with a dotted line to the Group Head of Legal, you'll work side by side with a top R&D; team of engineers and scientists on pioneering technology projects.

Candidate will support the legal and IP team in helping capture and protect new inventions, from the lab to the market and in maintaining, protecting, improving and commercialising TMRW Silicon's significant IP portfolio.

Key responsibilities
- Invention capture:
Work day to day with R&D; engineers and researchers to find and document inventions. Run invention disclosure reviews and assess whether inventions can be patented.
- Patent portfolio:
Support drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications (EPO, USPTO, PCT and national routes) with outside patent attorneys. Track deadlines, office actions, annuities and renewals.
- Searches and freedom to operate:
Run or coordinate prior-art, patentability and freedom-to-operate searches in semiconductors, photonics and plasmonics. Summarise the results for the legal team and the engineers.
- Competitor watch:
Monitor competitor patents and the wider technical landscape. Flag risks, opportunities and possible infringement.
