I’m working with a specialist CDMO looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to support international growth.

This is a technical commercial role suited to someone with a strong understanding of viral vectors, vaccines and related biopharmaceutical products, who can confidently engage customers around both the science and commercial opportunity.
The role
- Develop new business with biotech and pharmaceutical customers
- Identify, qualify and progress opportunities through to project award
- Sell specialist CDMO development and manufacturing services
- Build relationships with CMC, R&D;, Technical Operations and manufacturing stakeholders
- Understand customer programmes and translate technical requirements into relevant solutions
- Work closely with internal scientific, process development, manufacturing and project teams
- Represent the business at conferences, industry events and customer meetings
- Monitor market trends and emerging technologies and feed commercial insight back into the business
- Manage and develop an international sales pipeline
About you
- Proven BD, commercial or account management experience within a CDMO
- Strong technical understanding of viral vectors, vaccines or related modalities
- Experience selling scientific, technical or manufacturing services
- Comfortable discussing scientific and development concepts with customers
- Strong new-business and relationship-building skills xcskxlj
- Commercially agile and comfortable working in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment
- Able to work autonomously while collaborating closely with technical teams
- International experience is advantageous
- A scientific degree is required; PhD highly advantageous
This is a broad commercial role combining business development, technical customer engagement and market development, with the opportunity to work closely with scientific and technical teams.
