MissionThe role of Assistant Sommelier is essential in supporting the overall wine service and standards are elevated and maintained at a level where guests’ needs are fully met and all service team members are provided with basic knowledge on wines and available selection. Both the Sommelier and Assistant Sommelier will be responsible for the selection, purchasing,



sales and service of wines and will have the ultimate responsibility in ensuring that service staff have a basic level of competence in conversing and serving of wine.
Profile
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience within a luxury resort/hotel preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of wines, vineyards and wine regions preferred. A minimum of WSET Level 2 required or other wine-related qualification (e.g. Court of Master Sommeliers)
- Strong experience in Opera, Micros and SevenRooms assets
- Experience with Inventory Management System an asset
- Ability to communicate at all levels - excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well independently with little supervision
- Strong leadership capabilities with proactive attention to detail
- Ability to work versátil hours
- Valid Antigua & Barbuda Driver's License required
