The PositionJob description

Act as the IT Expert and Consultant for the SAP S/4HANA & MDG - Material Master Data Global Template team, leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Global Template. In this role, you will be accountable for defining and governing Material Master data standards, ensuring data quality, lineage, and metadata accuracy across the organization. You will drive and enforce data governance policies, support data stewardship programs, and collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to align data definitions, resolve data issues, and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements. By combining deep SAP S/4HANA & MDG expertise with strong data management and governance capabilities, you will play a key role in building a trusted, scalable, and well‑managed Material Master data environment that enables high‑quality decision‑making and operational excellence.

Consultancy:

- Act as the IT Expert and Consultant for the SAP S/4HANA & MDG - Material Master Data Global Template team, driving the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Global Template.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner closely with Business Product, Process, and Content owners to plan and execute strategic enhancements to the Global Template solution.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, and Product Owners to create detailed technical architecture patterns for master data initiatives.
- Partner with business stakeholders to develop innovative solutions addressing business challenges and opportunities.

Functional Implementation:
- Responsible for process design, configuration, testing assistance, requirements gathering, and establishing a fully functional MDG environment.
- Execute hands‑on functional responsibilities, including requirements gathering, fit‑gap analysis, solution design, system configuration, and testing.

Task Coordination:
- Distribute and coordinate deliverables across cross‑functional IT teams (such as Build and Test factories), ensuring on‑time delivery and adherence to quality standards.

Feasibility & Design:
- Conduct feasibility studies and process design reviews specifically for the SAP S/4HANA / MDG - Material Master Data solution.

Integration & Governance:
- Coordinate all SAP S/4HANA / MDG - Material Master Data dependencies—including data migration, harmonization, and IT integration—while ensuring strict alignment with global template principles.

MUST HAVE QualificationsEducation / Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of dedicated experience in SAP Material Master Data as an IT Functional or Technical Consultant.
- At least 3 full‑lifecycle implementations of the SAP MDG - Material Master Module, including Consolidation, Mass Processing, Data Quality Management (DQM), Integration, and Master Data Quality (MDQ).




- Demonstrated experience handling big‑size data governance projects and overseeing complex data governance systems.
- Proven track record of independently leading, developing, and enforcing data governance policies and standards across multiple business units.
- Experience actively managing data assets, ensuring data quality, lineage, and metadata accuracy.

Must Have Technical / Business Skills
- Deep functional and technical understanding of SAP Material Master concepts, including Procure‑to‑Pay, Manufacturing, and Quality Management.
- Expert‑level SAP functional configuration of Material master data.
- Proficiency in SAP Customizing and SAP ABAP, specifically in design, implementation, and debugging.
- Advanced knowledge of BRF+ (Business Rule Framework plus), including building rule‑based workflow services and working collaboratively with developers for enhancements.
- Strong, in‑depth knowledge of data privacy laws, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
- Proven hands‑on experience with SAP Solution Manager and Focused Build cycles.

Additional Qualifications
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex governance requirements for both technical teams and non‑technical business leaders.
- Strong collaborative mindset to work closely with various departments to define data definitions, resolve data issues, and ensure strict compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Exceptional team player with a proven track record of effectively coordinating with diverse Business and IT stakeholders.
- Leadership & Ownership: A proactive team player with a strong willingness to take ownership, lead business discussions, and drive decision‑making.
- Issue Resolution: Ability to track, report, and drive resolutions for solution defects as well as SAP product‑related defects.

The Opportunity

- Serve as a key subject matter expert to define, support, and execute master data standards across assigned PT domains in alignment with global Pharma value chain requirements.
- Collaborate closely with PT and IT stakeholders to map the data landscape, identify critical gaps, and establish unified data standards.
- Partner with Data Stewards, System Owners, and Data Product teams to guide the accurate implementation of global standards in site‑specific systems and local initiatives.
- Document and maintain comprehensive data lineage, data catalogs, and data dictionaries to meet stringent regulatory, CMO, and end‑user access requirements.
- Maintain consistent terminology and reference datasets across PT platforms to ensure continuous data integrity and high‑quality data health.
- Oversee compliance with established data standards, evaluating deviation reports, performing impact assessments, and escalating systemic risks to leadership.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and work alongside Data Steward Leads to mitigate data quality issues and resolve standards gaps across source systems.

Who You Are
- You bring 10+years of experience in a master data standards, data governance, or data management role, ideally within a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or a related technical discipline.
- You possess proven expertise in applying and maintaining master, transactional, and reference data standards across complex enterprise system landscapes.
- You demonstrate a strong grasp of data governance principles, paired with proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL to interrogate datasets and detect quality patterns.
- You are familiar with modern data cataloging and quality solutions (e.g., Collibra, Monte Carlo, Ataccama) and bring valuable exposure to cloud environments such as AWS or Snowflake.
- You have exceptional communication skills with a proven talent for explaining technical data standards clearly to diverse business stakeholders.
- You are a detail‑oriented, self‑directed professional who excels at delivering accurate documentation while working independently toward strategic organizational goals.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Mississauga is 136,936.00 and 179,728.50 of hiring range. Vigente pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job‑related factors as determined by the company.
