Get to know us
Started in 2016, Frekuent is now the all-in-one payment and loyalty platform for unattended environments — 500 clients, 100M transactions a year, 2.5M users across Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, and Singapore. We turn one-time buyers into lifetime clients with cashless, contactless, effortless payments: less friction, more reasons to come back.
2026 has been our biggest year yet — we've hyperscaled from 40 to 100 people, with more hires on the way, and closed a €6M funding round to fuel what's next.
And we're just getting started — our goal is to become the default payment and loyalty layer behind every unattended transaction, everywhere.

Why this role exists
We already operate in five countries, and "everywhere" is the goal. Getting there can't depend on one-off launches figured out from scratch each time — it needs someone who decides which markets come next, how we enter them, and how our model bends to each one without breaking.
Reporting to our CBO, you'll own Frekuent's international expansion end to end: the roadmap, the entry model, the partners on the ground and the P&L; of every market outside our core. You'll turn expansion decisions into launches that actually work, alongside Product, Technology, Operations, Finance, Legal and Marketing — and build the team that scales it from here.
What you'll actually do
- Define and run the international roadmap: which markets we prioritise, the entry model for each (direct, distributor, partner, licensing) and the business case behind it.
- Adapt our hardware, subscription, transaction, advertising and loyalty models to each market's regulation, local payment methods and commercial reality.
- Orchestrate every launch with functional leads — localisation, certifications, licensing, logistics and legal set-up — and clear the blockers that slow time-to-market.
- Build the international channel: source, negotiate and close deals with distributors, integrators, OEMs and strategic allies.
- Own the international P&L; — recurring revenue, installed base, margin per market and time-to-breakeven — and fix unit economics where they lag.
- Set pricing and commercial terms by geography, and turn each launch into a repeatable playbook that makes the next one faster.
- Run live markets with clear KPIs, a steady reporting cadence to the CBO and leadership, and quick corrective action when numbers drift.
- Be Frekuent's face abroad with partners, key clients, institutions and at industry events — and build, lead and grow the international team as our footprint expands.
What you bring
- 15 years in international business development, including proven, hands-on internationalisation experience — this is essential for the role.
- A track record opening and scaling markets across several of these regions: Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
- Real experience adapting business models to local realities: regulation, means of payment, channel structures, pricing and culture.
- Senior-level experience negotiating with and managing distributors, partners and strategic alliances.
- Proven P&L; ownership and a data-driven way of running commercial performance.
- A history of leading and developing teams, and influencing cross-functional peers without direct authority.
- A builder's instinct: you're energised by markets where nothing exists yet, and you're credible both in a boardroom and on a shop floor.
- Fluent Spanish and English, a degree in Business, Engineering, Economics or similar, and availability to travel frequently across target regions.
Bonus points if you...
- Have worked in payments, fintech, retail tech, vending, IoT or hardware SaaS models.
- Have set up subsidiaries, joint ventures or master-distribution structures.
- Hold an MBA.
- Speak a third language.
- Have scaled a company's international presence during a hypergrowth phase.
How we work
- Fast, autonomous, low-bureaucracy.
- We measure output, not hours in a chair.
- Resilience means iterating until it works — not giving up early.
