Private Credit Associate

Location: Madrid, Spain

We are working with an established investment firm seeking an Associate to join its private credit team in Madrid. The team provides adaptable financing to mid-market businesses and financial sponsors across Southern Europe.

The Associate will work across the investment process, from assessing new opportunities through execution and portfolio monitoring. The role offers exposure to senior and junior debt structures, including financing for acquisitions, growth and shareholder transactions.

Responsibilities

- Analyse prospective investments, including company performance, cash flows, capital structure and downside risks.
- Build and review financial models, debt capacity analyses and investment returns.
- Coordinate commercial, financial and legal due diligence.
- Prepare investment papers and present findings to senior team members.
- Support the structuring, negotiation and execution of financing transactions.
- Monitor portfolio companies,



covenant performance and developments that may affect credit quality.
- Build relationships with private equity sponsors, advisers, lenders and management teams.

Candidate profile

- Approximately 3–6 years of relevant experience in private credit, leveraged finance, debt advisory, investment banking or a related investment role.
- Strong financial modelling, credit analysis and transaction execution skills.
- Experience assessing leveraged businesses and working with debt documentation.
- Sound commercial judgement, attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of workstreams.
- Professional fluency in English; Spanish is strongly preferred. Italian or French would be an advantage.
