About the role

We are looking for a Senior API Designer to join an international technology environment and play a key role in designing, reviewing, and improving APIs that support critical business integrations.

You will work at the intersection of business and technology, translating business requirements into robust, scalable and well-designed APIs while ensuring alignment between API specifications and their real implementation.

Beyond API design, you will contribute to the evolution of API best practices, participate in architecture and design communities, and help shape the tools and processes used by the team.

? What you’ll do

- Design and specify APIs based on business and technical requirements.
- Review and challenge business requirements when necessary to ensure the right API solution is delivered.
- Create and review Pull Requests in Azure DevOps.
- Ensure consistency and compliance between API specifications and their vigente implementation.
- Support both technical and business stakeholders throughout API integration projects.
- Promote and share API design best practices across the organization.
- Participate in internal API communities and the API Design Authority.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of team tools, processes and ways of working.
- Conduct and share technology watch on API design, integration and related technologies.
- Contribute to a strong culture of quality, documentation, standardization and API governance.

?️ Technical skills

Required

- 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst (connect business needs with technical solutions and communicate effectively with different stakeholders), with at least 3 years as an API Designer.

Strong experience with:
- API Design & Specifications:



OpenAPI 3.x, Swagger 2.0
- API standards: REST, Richardson Maturity Model (Level 2/3), RFC
- Data formats: JSON, XML, YAML
- Modeling: UML, sequence diagrams, MindMap / XMind
- API tools: Swagger Editor, Swagger Hub, Postman
- Development tools: Git, VS Code
- Productivity tools: Microsoft Office 365
- Strong understanding of API architecture, integration patterns and API governance.
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment.
- Fluent English.
