Position Summary
The Grid Specialist supports the identification, assessment, coordination, and follow-up of grid connection matters for IREN’s data center development pipeline in Spain. The role provides technical and administrative support to grid-related activities, helping evaluate connection options, track grid milestones, coordinate information with utilities and technical advisors, and maintain accurate documentation for development decision-making.
Working within the Development Department and reporting to the Senior Grid Manager, the Grid Specialist contributes to the progression of development projects by supporting grid feasibility analysis, connection application processes, technical interface coordination, and the monitoring of grid-related risks and dependencies as IREN expands its renewable-powered AI and high-performance compute infrastructure platform.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Grid Manager, the Grid Specialist is responsible for:
• Support the assessment of grid connection opportunities for IREN’s Spanish development pipeline,
gathering and reviewing information related to capacity availability, connection points, technical constraints, and network development plans.
• Prepare and maintain grid-related trackers, documentation, application records, milestone registers, and status updates to ensure clear visibility of connection progress and pending actions.
• Coordinate technical inputs with internal development, land, planning, engineering, legal, and permitting teams to support the integration of grid requirements into project development plans.
• Support communication and information exchange with grid operators, utilities, technical consultants, and other external stakeholders, ensuring that requests, submissions, and responses are properly followed up.
