Role Description The Founding Merchant Acquisition Lead at SocialPerks is a full-time, hybrid role based in Barcelona, with flexibility for partial work from home. In this role, you will identify, prospect, and onboard new merchants, focusing on building a high-quality portfolio of early partners for our platform. You will own the full merchant acquisition lifecycle: researching target segments, preparing outreach materials, leading sales conversations, negotiating terms, and ensuring a smooth activation process.

You will collaborate closely with product and operations to relay merchant feedback, refine value propositions, and support ongoing relationship management. As a founding team member, you will help define acquisition strategies, build scalable processes, and contribute to setting performance goals and reporting on key metrics.

Qualifications

- Strong experience in B2B sales, business development, or merchant acquisition, ideally within tech, SaaS, marketplaces, or loyalty/fintech products.
- Proficiency in relationship building, negotiation,



and stakeholder management, with a track record of closing deals and nurturing long-term partnerships.
- Solid analytical and research skills to identify target markets, understand merchant needs, and use data to refine acquisition strategies.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities in English; Spanish or Catalan language skills are highly valued.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment, with strong ownership, adaptability, and ability to create and improve processes from scratch.
- Experience using CRM tools and sales productivity software to manage pipelines, track performance, and maintain accurate records.
- Understanding of retail, hospitality, or local commerce ecosystems is a plus, especially in the Barcelona or broader Spanish market.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
