Role Description The Patent Paralegal role at Elion IP is a full-time, remote position supporting European Patent Attorneys and other IP professionals. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing, filing, and managing patent applications and related legal documents, as well as monitoring deadlines, maintaining accurate records in docketing systems and invoicing. The role involves assisting with patent prosecution tasks, coordinating communications with patent offices and clients, helping prepare documentation for national and regional entry phases and post-grant procedures .

Paralegal will collaborate closely with attorneys to ensure efficient workflows, compliant filings, and timely responses, while contributing to high-quality client service and clear, organized documentation.

Qualifications

- Higher vocational training or university degree.
- 1–2 years of experience in a similar position, such as patent paralegal or IP assistant.
- Experience with procedures related to the filing and prosecution of patents and trademarks, including deadline docketing and monitoring.
- Native or fluent Spanish (essential).
- High level of English (C1 or above), both spoken and written.
- Proactive, analytical and meticulous, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks.
- Proficiency in MS Windows and databases.
- Based in Madrid: this is a remote position, but candidates must work from Madrid.

Nice to have

- Holding the European Patent Administration Certification (EPAC) is a plus.
- Knowledge of electronic filing tools for patent applications (Online Filing 2.0, eOLF, etc.).
- Other languages: German, French, etc.
- Knowledge of trademarks and/or industrial designs.
