We are looking for a Senior Functional Consultant & IT Architect to join a strategic client engagement in Spain. You will become part of a highly experienced team driving a major modernization initiative, helping transform legacy portal solutions into AI-supported digital platforms.

As a Senior Functional Consultant & IT Architect, you will bridge the gap between business and technology. You will lead discovery activities, facilitate stakeholder workshops, shape modernization roadmaps, and collaborate with architects and engineering teams to define scalable, future-ready solutions. You will also contribute expertise in observability and distributed systems, helping clients improve reliability, visibility, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

- Lead workshops with business stakeholders, operations teams, and intermediary networks to gather requirements and align priorities.
- Build and validate functional inventories, identifying business capabilities, dependencies, and migration candidates.
- Prioritize functionalities based on business value, usage, risks, and dependencies.
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to map business capabilities to microservices, APIs, integrations, and target architectures.
- Define cutover strategies,



coexistence models, go/no-go criteria, and rollback approaches for modernization initiatives.
- Produce high-quality consulting deliverables, including impact assessments, decision logs, discovery reports, and business cases.
- Support observability initiatives across distributed environments using modern monitoring and telemetry practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor, translating business requirements into technical decisions and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You'll Need

- 6+ years of experience in IT, including at least 3 years in functional consulting, business analysis, or client-facing advisory roles.
- Proven experience facilitating workshops, eliciting requirements, and managing stakeholder alignment.
- Strong consulting and documentation skills, including impact assessments, prioritization exercises, and decision tracking.
- Solid understanding of microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Experience participating in modernization, migration, or digital transformation programs.
- Hands-on experience with observability technologies such as Elastic Stack, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace,



or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of logs, metrics, distributed tracing, and alerting concepts.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence is a plus.
- Experience using AI tools to support analysis, documentation, or discovery activities is a plus.
- Experience in insurance environments or intermediary-based business models is a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
