Jember Spain is looking for offices in Madrid, Valencia, and Malaga, a Senior Software Engineer to own the design and delivery of features and components within one of our engineering teams. Working across our JVM-based, event-driven platform, you will frame problems, produce and maintain system designs, and take your work from refinement through to production and post-release.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be responsible for:

- Owning the system design of your team's components
- Delivering production-ready and well-tested code
- Managing your own delivery: estimation, sequencing, raising delivery risks, owning the operability of what you ship, including monitoring reliability and taking part in on-call.
- You will work full-stack where the role calls for it and use AI-assisted tooling (Claude Code) as a genuine part of your daily workflow.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with clear evidence of owning features and components end to end within a team
- Solid foundation in the JVM (Java / Kotlin)
- Frontend experience (React, TypeScript, Node.js) is a strong plus. We work full-stack, and we expect engineers to pick up frontend work quickly where the role calls for it.
- Production experience with event-driven systems; hands-on experience with Kafka is a strong plus
- Comfortable applying common patterns (event-driven,



API gateways) and a developing sense of when not to
- Sound database judgment with relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational stores, including data modelling and query performance
- Effective use of AI coding tools in your daily workflow. We use Claude Code; experience with similar tools (OpenAI Codex, opencode, Cursor and others) is fully transferable
- Familiarity with cloud service providers, ideally Azure
- Comfortable with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent qualification
