Role Description The Wi-Fi Standards Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Reston, Virginia. This role involves researching and analyzing emerging Wi-Fi technologies, contributing to standards development activities, and preparing technical proposals for international standards bodies. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new concepts, simulate and model wireless systems, and document technical findings.

Daily tasks include reviewing existing specifications, drafting contributions, participating in technical meetings,



and working with other engineers to align inventions with Wi-Fi standards requirements.

Qualifications

- Strong background in Wireless Technologies and Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Wi-Fi and related communication systems.
- Proven experience in Standards Development, including contributions to Wi-Fi or other telecommunications standards.
- Excellent Research and Analytical Skills for evaluating technical proposals, performing simulations, and interpreting complex data.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, RF fundamentals, and system-level design.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in written and spoken English.
- Experience working with international standards organizations (e.g., IEEE 802.11) is highly beneficial.
- Capacity to work collaboratively in an on-site research environment and manage multiple projects effectively.
