THE ROLE The Resort Systems Specialist is a member of the ICT team based at the IDILIQ Head Office in Mijas Costa (Málaga), on the Costa del Sol and reports to the Head of Resort & Payment Systems. The role is responsible for supporting, administering, and enhancing the hospitality technology platforms that underpin resort operations across the IDILIQ portfolio.
The initial focus of the role will be Food & Beverage systems, including taking over day-to-day ownership of Oracle Micros Simphony POS, ResDiary and related F&B; reservation systems as part of a planned internal handover. Over time, the role will broaden to include OPERA Cloud PMS and the other hospitality systems supported by the Resort Systems team.
Working closely with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Finance, and other operational departments, as well as third-party vendors and technology partners, the Resort Systems Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that hospitality systems remain reliable, secure, well-configured, integrated, and user-friendly.
The successful candidate will support the ongoing optimization of resort technology solutions, contribute to system implementations and upgrades, troubleshoot technical issues, and help drive operational efficiencies that enhance both the guest and employee experience across all properties.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary focus will be to support and optimise Food & Beverage systems (principally Oracle Micros Simphony POS) and the wider hospitality technology environment, ensuring critical resort systems are effectively configured, maintained and continuously improved across the IDILIQ Group. The Resort Systems Specialist will assist operational teams in delivering a seamless guest experience by supporting point-of-sale, property management, payment and reporting systems.
System Administration & Support
- Support, administer and configure Oracle Micros Simphony POS across all F&B; outlets (restaurants, bars, kitchens and retail), and assist with OPERA Cloud PMS administration and support
- Manage menus, revenue centres, promotions, user accounts, permissions, operational settings and other system configurations.
- Support POS workstations and peripherals, including printers, workstations and handheld devices
- Administer ResDiary and other F&B; reservation and listing systems.
- Support POS integrations with the PMS, inventory, finance and reporting systems, including accurate revenue posting and month-end support.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain accurate system documentation, procedures and user guides.
- Ensure system configurations adhere to company standards and operational requirements.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot POS, PMS, payment, reporting, hardware and integration issues.
- Investigate and resolve user-reported problems in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate with Oracle and third-party vendors to escalate and resolve technical issues when required.
- Assist with root cause analysis and recommend preventative measures to reduce recurring issues.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Support system implementations, upgrades, testing and deployment activities.
- Participate in new venue openings, system rollouts and hospitality technology projects.
- Assist with integration initiatives involving payment gateways, reporting solutions and guest-facing technologies.
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency through improved system processes and functionality.
- Support user acceptance testing and validation of system changes.
- Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of other F&B; and hospitality platforms as the portfolio grows, including non-Oracle solutions.
Training & Stakeholder Support
- Provide guidance and support to Food & Beverage, Finance and resort operational teams.
- Deliver system training and knowledge-sharing sessions where required including to restaurant managers, supervisors and F&B; staff.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external technology partners.
- Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical users.
Reporting & Compliance
- Assist with generating and maintaining reports from hospitality systems and associated platforms.
- Support data integrity, security and compliance across hospitality technology systems.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of user access and permissions.

BACKGROUND
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience supporting hospitality technology systems within a hotel, resort, hospitality, or leisure environment.
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Oracle Micros Simphony POS or a comparable enterprise POS platform
- Good understanding of Food & Beverage operations (restaurants, bars and kitchens) in a hotel or resort environment
- Experience configuring, administering, and troubleshooting hospitality technology systems.
- Experience supporting end users within Food & Beverage, Finance, and Operational departments.
- Experience coordinating and resolving issues with third-party technology vendors and service providers.
- Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades, testing activities, and technology projects.
- Experience maintaining system documentation, user procedures, and training materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
- Fluent Spanish (written and verbal) is essential; professional-level English is strongly desirable.
- Must live within commuting distance of Mijas Costa (Málaga) and be able to work from the office.
Preferred Experience
- Understanding of hotel or resort administrative functions, including Finance and Revenue Management.
- Experience with hospitality technology integrations, payment gateways, and guest-facing technologies.
- Knowledge of Oracle Hospitality products and related technology platforms.
- Experience with OPERA Cloud PMS or other property management systems.
- Experience with ResDiary or other restaurant reservation and inventory systems
- Experience using SQL, reporting tools, or business intelligence solutions.
- Experience participating in new property openings, system deployments, or hospitality technology transformation projects.
- Experience working with cloud-based applications and mobile technologies.
- Ongoing commitment to professional development and staying current with emerging hospitality technologies and best practices.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Hospitality Management, Business Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Desirable but not essential.
Certificates
- Certification in Oracle Micros Simphony POS is advantageous
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent IT Service Management qualification is advantageous.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or similar) is advantageous.
- Hospitality technology, systems administration, or business systems certifications are advantageous.
