Lead High Voltage Electrical Engineer - Madrid An established renewable energy organisation is seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrical Lead Engineer to lead MV/HV grid connection engineering across utility-scale renewable energy projects. The position will take technical ownership of grid connection activities throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with grid operators, consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers and internal development, engineering and construction teams. With a core focus on the German market.

Your Responsibilities

- Lead MV/HV electrical and grid connection engineering for utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Manage electrical studies and ensure designs comply with applicable grid codes, network requirements and technical standards.
- Coordinate grid connection activities with transmission and distribution network operators, including technical discussions and interconnection requirements.
- Provide technical expertise across MV/HV system design, protection studies, cable sizing and electrical network studies.
- Support the design, construction and commissioning of renewable generation assets and associated grid connection infrastructure.
- Review technical proposals from suppliers and contractors and contribute to equipment evaluation and selection.
- Work across development, engineering, procurement and construction teams to resolve technical and grid-related issues.
- Support the development and improvement of internal engineering standards, grid connection processes,



reporting tools and technical guidelines.

Your Background

- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Several years of experience in MV/HV engineering, grid connections or electrical infrastructure, ideally within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong understanding of electrical network design, grid codes and transmission/distribution operator requirements.
- Experience delivering grid connection engineering for solar PV, wind, battery storage or other utility-scale generation projects would be advantageous.
- Experience using electrical simulation software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP or equivalent.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar engineering design software.
- Strong technical problem-solving and project coordination capabilities.
- Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams, external engineering partners, contractors and network operators.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to operate effectively within an international project environment.
- Professional fluency in English, with an additional European language advantageous.
