The Role The Market Strategy Intern will join Sonnedix's Commercial department, becoming part of the Market Strategy team based in Madrid. This is a hands-on role sitting at the intersection of energy markets, data analytics, and commercial strategy. The intern will monitor general energy market dynamics, including commodity price trends, regulatory developments, and structural shifts, and support the development and maintenance of revenue forecast models for PV, BESS, and hybrid asset portfolios.

The role also involves contributing to the automation and standardisation of recurring analytical processes (market monitoring, revenue updates, monthly and quarterly reporting), translating complex datasets into clear, actionable outputs, and engaging in ad-hoc reporting and analysis. Strong cross-functional exposure is built into the role, working alongside Acquisitions/Finance, Portfolio Structuring, Commercial Operations, Short-term Trading, and Customers teams.

Desirable skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex quantitative analysis into practical, commercially relevant insights.
- A proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented mindset, able to prioritise and take ownership with limited supervision.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey findings to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams in a multi-departmental environment.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (Italian is a plus).
- Proficiency in analytical tools such as Python/R (SQL and/or Power BI desirable), along with comfort using AI tools (Copilot, Claude, or similar) for coding, analysis, and day-to-day productivity.
