L2 Plants Infrastructure – Network & Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced L2 Network & Infrastructure Engineer to join the Plants Infrastructure team and provide technical support and operational expertise across our industrial/plant environments.

The role will focus primarily on networking and infrastructure services , ensuring the availability, performance, and security of plant IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with L1 support, L3 infrastructure teams, cybersecurity, vendors, and local plant stakeholders to resolve incidents, implement changes, and maintain a stable operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide L2 technical support for plant networking and infrastructure services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents involving LAN/WAN, switching, routing, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, and connectivity .
- Monitor infrastructure availability and performance and proactively identify potential issues.
- Perform technical troubleshooting using network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Support the configuration and maintenance of network devices and infrastructure components.
- Manage and troubleshoot connectivity between plant environments, corporate infrastructure, and remote locations.
- Participate in infrastructure changes, upgrades, migrations, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with L3 teams and external vendors for complex incidents and problem resolution.
- Follow ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, change, and request management .
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Support infrastructure-related projects and ensure solutions are implemented according to corporate standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement, standardization,



and reliability of plant infrastructure.
- Ensure infrastructure operations comply with relevant security, availability, and operational policies .

Required Experience & Skills

- 3+ years of experience in networking and IT infrastructure support , ideally in a large or distributed enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and network troubleshooting
- LAN/WAN technologies
- Switching and routing
- VLANs and network segmentation
- Wi-Fi infrastructure
- Firewalls and VPN technologies
- Network monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Experience working with enterprise network technologies and vendors.
- Good understanding of infrastructure services and their dependencies.
- Experience working within structured ITSM/ITIL processes .
- Ability to analyze incidents, identify root causes, and drive issues through to resolution.
- Comfortable working with geographically distributed teams and third-party providers.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate to L3 or specialist teams.

Desirable

- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or plant environments .
- Knowledge of OT/IT environments and industrial network architectures.
- Experience with Cisco or equivalent networking technologies.
- Relevant networking certifications such as CCNA/CCNP .
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and network security controls.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and automation tools

Profile We are looking for someone who is hands-on, structured, and service-oriented , with strong troubleshooting capabilities and a practical approach to infrastructure operations. The adecuado candidate is comfortable working in a plant environment, dealing with operational priorities, and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
