PURPOSE OF THE CONTRACT: Cross-cutting support in data analysis across all the research lines of the group.

The successful candidate will collaborate in the research tasks of the project/agreement indicated above.

O Fortín Building, Oza Campus. Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

TASKS TO BE PERFORMED

A research support technician with MECES Level 3 (Master’s degree) training is required to carry out support tasks in data management and analysis within the projects developed by the group. These tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Merging and cleaning databases from clinical-epidemiological research projects.
- Data analysis using basic and advanced statistical techniques.

CONTRACT DURATION

This position is considered a key support measure for the consolidation of the group, and the contract is therefore intended to last for the duration of the consolidation grant that funds it.

Qualification

Qualification: MECES Level 3 (Master’s degree), with a focus on statistical data analysis.

Required

- Experience in the management of health databases, including their merging, filtering, cleaning and labelling.




- Proven experience in health data analysis and in the use of basic and advanced techniques, including basic descriptive and inferential statistics, survival analysis, regression models, data imputation techniques, application of competing-risks models, and others.
- Proven experience in the graphical presentation of data.
- Knowledge of and proven experience in the use of statistical and epidemiological analysis software packages (SPSS, Stata, R, Epidat and others).

Additional qualifications that will be considered

- Experience in accessing and using open public databases containing health information suitable for research purposes (GLOBOCAN, INEBASE and others).
- Participation in scientific articles in the field of biomedicine, including the preparation of responses to reviewers, particularly with regard to the methodological aspects of each study.
- Proven experience in the graphical and tabular presentation of data for publication in scientific journals in the field of biomedicine.
- Ability to work as part of a team.

Eligibility criteria
MERIT ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
SPECIFIC TRAINING IN STATISTICS AND DATA ANALYSIS (Maximum: 15 points)

- University-specific postgraduate studies: Score: 4–8 points (maximum 8 points).
- Other training (non-postgraduate studies): Score: 2 points (maximum).

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE (Maximum: 15 points)

- Time worked under contracts related to statistical data analysis:
Score: 2 points per year worked. Only professional experience related to the purpose and tasks of the contract will be taken into consideration.

EXPERIENCE IN DATA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYSIS (Maximum: 45 points)

Proven experience in data management and the use of statistical techniques in research projects. Projects and techniques applied must be described.

Score: Each project will be assessed from 0 to 2 points, depending on the techniques used, their complexity and the variety of software programmes used. The score for each project will be weighted according to its relevance to the tasks to be performed, as follows:

- Data analysis in projects in the cardiovascular field: Weighting = 1.
- Data analysis in projects in other areas of biomedicine: Weighting = 0.5.




- Data analysis in projects in other areas not related to biomedicine: Weighting = 0.25.

OTHER MERITS (Maximum: 5 points)
Scientific publications in journals included in the Journal Impact Factor (JIF).

Score: Each publication will be awarded up to 2 points, depending on its relative position in the JIF and its relevance to the research area of the group, applying the following weighting factors:

- Articles in the cardiovascular field: Weighting = 1.
- Articles in other areas of biomedicine: Weighting = 0.5.
- Articles in other areas not related to biomedicine: Weighting = 0.25.
- Articles published in journals in the first tertile of their category in the JIF: Weighting = 1.
- Articles published in journals in the second tertile of their category in the JIF: Weighting = 0.66.
- Articles published in journals in the third tertile of their category in the JIF: Weighting = 0.33.
- Among the highest-ranked candidates, the suitability of the curriculum vitae for the position will be assessed.*

At the end of the selection process, a reserve list will be established comprising candidates who, excluding the personal interview, have obtained a score of 50 points or more.

* The three highest-scoring candidates will be interviewed, provided that their score in the other sections is less than 15 points below that of the highest-scoring candidate.
