About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Finance & Accounting team in Madrid.

Part of our accounting function is currently supported by external accounting advisors. A key objective of this role will be to work closely with these partners, review and challenge the accounting currently performed externally, and progressively strengthen accounting knowledge, controls and ownership in-house.

This is a hands-on position for someone who understands the full accounting cycle and is comfortable taking ownership of closing processes, financial statements, reconciliations, audit coordination and accounting quality across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities

- Take ownership of monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes.
- Review and prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, reclassifications and other closing adjustments.
- Own and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies or unusual balances.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Review P&L; and Balance Sheet accounts and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.




- Support intercompany accounting, reconciliations and consolidation activities across group entities.
- Review accounting work performed by external advisors and challenge inconsistencies when necessary.
- Work closely with external accounting and tax advisors to progressively strengthen and internalize accounting processes.
- Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and coordinate accounting-related requests.
- Support the Finance team in California with accounting and reporting requirements.
- Partner with Accounts Payable, Treasury and FP&A; to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls and reporting.
- Provide accounting guidance and support to other members of the Finance team.

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in financial accounting, General Ledger, external audit or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle and month/year-end close.
- Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing journal entries, accruals,



provisions and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience preparing and/or reviewing financial statements.
- Experience working directly with external auditors and accounting/tax advisors.
- Experience with consolidation, intercompany accounting and multi-entity environments is highly valued.
- External audit experience, particularly Big Four or another leading audit firm, is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of P&L;, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
- Good Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP (PGC); exposure to IFRS and/or US GAAP is highly valued.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Real estate, hospitality or international experience is a plus.
