At ING we are looking for a Non-Financial Risk Specialist (Business Banking)

Your role and work environment:

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Non-Financial Risk (NFR) specialist with Business Banking background to join our Non-Financial Risk Team of ING Spain, with a hierarchical reporting line to ING Spain & Portugal’s Head of NFR.

ING is upgrading its processes, controls, and infrastructure to evolve into an end-to-end “straight through processing” company. Non-Financial Risk

Management uses sound principles of risk management to ensure that everything related to operational risk is within the risk appetite of the Bank, maintaining the control environment at an acceptable level following a risk-based approach (proportionate to its value and criticality).

The NFR team oversees the global NFR policies and best practices’ implementation within ING Spain & Portugal, provides advice and challenges the risk/control owners on effectiveness of risk identification and mitigation.

The team is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the ING Spain adherence to the NFR risk appetite and produces quarterly Non-Financial Risk Dashboard (NFRD) report.

Your key responsibilities:
As an experienced Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Specialist with a strong focus on Business Banking, you:

Have a deep understanding of Business Banking products, processes, customer journeys, and associated non-financial risks
Act as a trusted partner and advisor to business management, providing effective challenge, risk advice, and oversight to ensure risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, and monitored in line with the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements
Provide strong expertise in governance, operational risk management, controls’ effectiveness, risk assessments, incident management, and change initiatives, combined with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to drive a strong risk culture and support sustainable business growth
Support, challenge and monitor NFR risk management processes and quality
Participate in and challenge risk assessments and PARPs on key strategic projects and programs
Contribute to the development, maintenance and roll out the NFR Frameworks, Policies, Minimum Standards and Procedures
Perform Quality Assurance or deep dive reviews as part of second line monitoring
Contribute to the identification of the impact of and the coordination of responses to law and regulatory changes, ECB reports, etc. and monitors the follow-up of the regulatory issue solving




Foster Risk Management awareness within the organization, develop and maintain training modules and train the business communities
Provide outside-in perspective and support with research, assessment of the risk profile of organization and reporting to Senior Management.

Experience as Non-Financial Risk analyst focused on Business Banking with approx. minimum 5 years. Previous experience in IT or IT risk management would be a plus
University Degree or equivalent
Insight of digital banking, related Business Banking processes and regulations
Experience on end-to-end process analysis to identify and assess NFR risks, including root causes analysis
Expertise on testing methodologies
Driving impact and collaborating skills in multidisciplinary risk teams
Sound risk criteria: ability to be firm when needed and show flexibility when required
Proactivity and executive communication skills
Excellent data analysis skills
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
