In this role you guide a junior-to-mid engineering team within SUSE IT Platform Engineering to deliver reliable, cost-conscious tooling across source control, CI/CD, monitoring, and more. You shape technical direction, balance feature work with operations, and drive practical AI adoption to improve efficiency. You partner with cross-functional teams to decommission or migrate services and scale managed solutions. This is a chance to impact how SUSE runs its core platform and accelerates innovation.
Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Lead and develop a junior-to-mid engineering team with architectural mentorship
• Set portfolio-wide technical direction and prioritize investments, decommissioning, and migrations
• Own the service portfolio as a product manager, balancing backlog, features, and toil reduction
• Drive operational excellence with SLOs, incident response, and MTTR reduction
• Lead AI adoption for the team, identifying practical GenAI use cases and scaling them




• Apply FinOps thinking to optimize spend and favor serverless/managed services
• Integrate shadow IT by bringing unsanctioned tooling under managed services
• Collaborate across ITPE and broader IT and business units
Responsabilidades
• Several years in IT/infrastructure with 3+ years managing engineering teams
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Strong systems architecture experience with distributed systems and networking xghoner
• High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to make calls without complete information
• Track record of removing roadblocks and cross-team coordination
• AI literacy with ability to scope/evaluate GenAI use cases in IT operations; hands-on with tools is a plus
• Experience with modern operating practices: SLOs, error budgets, DORA metrics, IaC/GitOps, FinOps
• Pragmatic, value-focused mindset and avoidance of over-engineering
