Experteer Overview
In this role you will own the data-layer for a large PostgreSQL-based system on Amazon Aurora, ensuring high performance and reliability at enterprise scale. You will balance day-to-day operations with longer automation projects, shaping data models and deployment practices for cross-functional teams. You’ll drive incident responses, improve observability, and turn manual procedures into repeatable automation. This role supports Workato’s mission to orchestrate AI-powered business processes with trust and scale.
Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Own day-to-day PostgreSQL operations across production data centers (indexing, query-plan analysis, schema reviews, migrations)
• Collaborate with application teams on data-model decisions and scaling concerns
• Tune and operate Aurora PostgreSQL (parameter groups, replicas, failover, capacity planning)
• Maintain and evolve PgBouncer connection pooling
• Automate deployments and maintenance (Terraform + Ansible) for upgrades, switchover, and provisioning
• Lead incident response and RCAs for database issues, tracking follow-up actions
• Enhance database observability (postgres_exporter, VictoriaMetrics dashboards/alerts)
• Participate in duty rotation with focused off-duty time for deep work
Responsabilidades
• 5+ years of hands-on operational PostgreSQL experience (DBA / reliability)
• Strong experience with multi-TB table performance tuning and indexing
• Production experience with Aurora or RDS; awareness of its constraints
• Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code proficiency; Linux comfort
• Experience with connection pooling (PgBouncer) in production
• Practical experience with logical replication, major-version upgrades, low-downtime migrations
• Scripting ability (Bash, Python or Go); automation-first mindset
• Cloud experience (AWS) with solid incident-management and RCA skills
