We have partnered with our client in their search for a BIM Coordinator, based in Badajoz, Spain.

The BIM Coordinator is responsible for leading BIM strategy, digital delivery, model governance, and information management for IREN’s Spain data center, ensuring that design, construction, commissioning, handover, and operations teams work from coordinated, accurate, and reliable digital information. The role oversees BIM standards, model coordination, clash management, data requirements, workflows, and collaboration platforms to support the delivery and future operation of a large-scale, high-performance, renewable-powered data center environment.

This role contributes to the successful development and operation of the Badajoz data center by defining BIM execution requirements, coordinating multidisciplinary models, managing information exchanges, supporting design and construction decision-making, enabling efficient handover to operations, and helping establish a robust digital asset information base for ongoing maintenance, lifecycle management, capacity planning, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Technical Office Manager, the BIM Coordinator is responsible for:

- Define and lead the BIM strategy for the Badajoz data center by establishing BIM execution plans, information requirements, modelling standards, naming conventions, level of information need, collaboration workflows, and digital delivery processes aligned with IREN’s project and operational objectives.
- Manage multidisciplinary model coordination across CSA, MEP, security, networking, controls, commissioning, operations, consultants, contractors, and vendors by ensuring models are integrated, accurate,



clash-resolved, constructible, and suitable for decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee clash detection, model reviews, coordination meetings, issue tracking, design changes, and technical actions by using BIM coordination tools and structured workflows to support timely resolution of design and construction conflicts.
- Lead information management and document control integration by managing the common data environment, model submission protocols, approval workflows, data drops, revision control, metadata, and information exchanges between project stakeholders.
- Support construction, commissioning, and handover readiness by ensuring that BIM models and asset data reflect approved design, installation status, equipment information, maintainability needs, commissioning records, and operational acceptance requirements.
- Coordinate BIM requirements with contractors and suppliers by reviewing BIM deliverables, model quality, data completeness, federated models, as-built information, asset registers, COBie-type data where applicable, and digital handover packages.
- Provide BIM reporting and governance by preparing dashboards, coordination metrics, model health reports, issue registers, progress updates, risk summaries, lessons learned, and recommendations for project leadership and operational stakeholders.
- Promote digital excellence and continuous improvement by standardizing BIM practices, mentoring project teams, improving workflows, capturing lessons learned, and supporting the integration of BIM with asset management, facilities management,



and future data center expansion planning.

Qualifications

- At least 8–10 years of experience in BIM management, digital delivery, information management, design coordination, or model coordination, preferably within data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial infrastructure, energy projects, or large-scale complex construction environments.
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building Services Engineering, Digital Construction, or a related technical discipline; relevant certifications in BIM management, ISO 19650, information management, project management, or digital delivery are well regarded.
- Strong knowledge of BIM standards, BIM execution plans, common data environments, federated models, clash detection, model audits, information requirements, asset data, digital handover, and model-based coordination across CSA, MEP, controls, security, networking, and operations disciplines.
- Advanced proficiency with BIM and digital delivery tools such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, Solibri, Revizto, model viewers, issue tracking tools, dashboards, document management platforms, and data reporting solutions.
- Solid understanding of design, construction, commissioning, handover, and operations workflows, with the ability to translate technical and operational requirements into structured BIM processes, model requirements, data deliverables, and governance routines.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination, challenge model quality, identify design and construction risks, manage information exchanges, influence consultants and contractors, and support decision-making in fast-paced, technically complex project environments.
- Structured, analytical, collaborative, and improvement-oriented profile, with strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, documentation, training, problem-solving, planning, and prioritization skills.
