Deskside Support Engineer
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Experience: 5–8 Years
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced L2 Onsite Engineer & IT Project Coordinator to provide Level 2 End-User Computing (EUC) and Deskside Support while coordinating onsite IT infrastructure and workplace technology activities.
The engineer will act as the primary onsite IT contact, supporting end users, troubleshooting technical issues, managing IT assets, assisting with conference room technologies, and coordinating activities between users, remote IT teams, vendors, facilities, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
L2 Deskside & End-User Support
- Provide L2 onsite support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, printers, and workplace technologies.
- Troubleshoot Windows OS, Microsoft 365, software, hardware, and user-access issues.
- Perform hardware replacement, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Support device imaging, deployment, migration, and refresh activities.
- Handle incidents and service requests in accordance with agreed SLAs.
- Escalate complex issues to L3, infrastructure, security, or application teams when required.
IT Infrastructure Support
- Provide basic onsite support for LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, network ports, cabling, and connectivity issues.
- Assist with workplace infrastructure activities, including equipment installations and relocations.
- Coordinate with infrastructure teams for network, server, and other onsite technical requirements.
- Support troubleshooting of conference room and collaboration technologies.
IT Asset & Device Management
- Manage the onsite lifecycle of laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Maintain accurate asset records and ensure proper asset tagging and inventory updates.
- Coordinate device allocation, collection, replacement, and retirement activities.
- Support hardware refresh and deployment projects.
IT Project Coordination
- Coordinate and support onsite IT projects and infrastructure activities.
- Act as the onsite coordination point between users, remote IT teams, vendors, and facilities.
- Track project activities, dependencies, issues, and completion status.
- Ensure assigned activities are completed within agreed timelines.
- Support site moves, equipment deployments, office changes, and other IT initiatives.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary onsite IT representative for the location.
- Work closely with business users, remote support teams, vendors, facilities, and project teams.
- Coordinate vendor visits, hardware replacements, and technical service activities.
- Provide clear communication and regular status updates to relevant stakeholders.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, changes, assets, and onsite activities.
- Prepare technical documentation and project/status reports.
- Ensure all onsite activities follow customer procedures, security standards, and IT processes.
- Provide regular updates on incidents, projects, and outstanding actions.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in L2 Deskside, EUC, Field IT Support, or IT Infrastructure Support.
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Good troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, peripherals, and end-user devices.
- Experience with IT asset management and device lifecycle activities.
- Basic knowledge of LAN/Wi-Fi, network connectivity, and workplace infrastructure.
- Experience supporting conference rooms and collaboration technologies is preferred.
- Previous experience coordinating onsite IT projects, deployments, or infrastructure activities.
- Strong stakeholder, vendor, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently onsite and collaborate effectively with remote teams.
- Good documentation, reporting, and organizational skills.
- Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
