As Lead Software Engineer, you will shape SITA’s central data platform and TAM, building scalable cloud data products and APIs to unlock insights from vast aviation datasets. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, using modern architectures and ML-ready data pipelines. This role blends backend engineering with data workflows, enabling reliable, efficient operations for the global air transport industry.

You’ll work in a dynamic, office-based setup near Madrid or Barcelona with a strong focus on impact and innovation.

Responsabilidades

- Design scalable cloud-based data products focusing on performance, cost-efficiency, and security




- Develop reference ingestion APIs ensuring data quality and coherent data representation for consumers
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and CI/CD for product development and deployment; ensure testing and quality coverage
- Collaborate with data engineers, scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

Requisitos principales

- 5+ years of backend experience in large company environments
- Proficiency in typed backend languages (e.g., Java, TypeScript) with strong OOP
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) applied to large, complex domains
- Experience with Hexagonal Architecture xugodme as a design pattern
- Rest API design expertise; GraphQL in addition is a plus
- Familiarity with Databricks, Spark and event streaming (Azure Event Hub, Kafka)
- SQL and Python proficiency
- Azure cloud deployment experience; On-premises knowledge is a plus
