The candidate's primary area of specialization may be in quantitative methods, or it may be in another subdiscipline of psychology, provided that quantitative methods play a substantial role in the candidate's research program. Quantitative methods is broadly defined, but may include experimental design, statistical modeling, psychometrics, computational modeling, and the quantitative analysis of behavioral or psychological data. 1) teaching foundation and advanced courses in statistics and research design within our undergraduate (B.A.) program and graduate (M.A.) programs in General/Experimental Psychology and 2) supervising undergraduate and graduate research students in an active research program in the candidate's area of expertise.

Non-instructional responsibilities typically include, but are not limited to, maintaining an active research program, advising students, community service, participating in program development, and committee service at all levels of university governance. Department of Psychology is an academic unit within The College of Science and Mathematics, which is one of eight main instructional academic units of California State University, Fresno. The department is one of the largest on campus, with approximately 1850 undergraduate majors, 85 graduate students, and 20 tenured or tenure-track faculty.
