We’re looking for a Sickness & Absence Operations Specialist for a client in the biopharmaceutical sector. You’ll manage the operational and administrative follow-up of long-term sickness cases in Belgium, working closely with HR, payroll, medical services and external providers.

Your responsibilities

- Manage sickness files exceeding 30 days from an administrative perspective, keeping them complete, accurate and ready for review.
- Track legal and process deadlines throughout sickness and reintegration cases, and flag missing documents or risks before deadlines are missed.
- Update sickness and absence data across HR, time registration and payroll systems, ensuring the information is consistent.
- Coordinate the payroll treatment of sickness and work accidents, including guaranteed salary, mutuality allowances, disability benefits and insurance-related payments.
- Support work accident administration, from declarations through to follow-up with insurers and other external partners.




- Serve as a reliable point of contact for employees and managers, including when they use digital self-service tools.
- Prepare reporting and dashboards on case status, deadlines, trends and financial impact.
- Help improve checklists, workflows and digital tools used for sickness and work accident management.

Your profile

- 3–5 years of experience in HR operations, payroll administration or a similar role, ideally involving sickness, absence or work accident cases.
- Strong knowledge of how sickness and work accidents are handled in Belgian payroll.
- Experience with HR and payroll tools such as SuccessFactors, Neocase, myProtime, Oasys or eBlox, or comparable systems.
- Strong Excel skills; Power BI or other dashboarding experience is an asset.
- Accurate and organised, with the discretion and empathy needed to handle sensitive employee and medical information.
