Our client is a large international industrial group and a major player in chemicals and advanced materials, operating worldwide through multiple entities and regions. The group relies on an integrated information system built around SAP solutions to run its industrial and logistics operations, with strong regulatory compliance requirements on its international trade flows.

About the role

As part of strengthening its international trade operations, the client is looking for an experienced SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) expert to join the internal team in charge of supply chain information systems. The consultant will work on two areas. First, running and continuously improving the SAP GTS 11 environment currently in production. Second, supporting the strategic thinking and roadmap for the migration to SAP GTS E4H (Edition for SAP HANA / S/4HANA). In this role, the consultant will play a key part in defining the group's future Global Trade architecture, while ensuring the continuity of critical operations already in place.

Responsibilities

Mission context

- Act as SAP GTS expert within major business transformation programmes
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into SAP GTS solution designs
- Support and guide the client's teams during the selection of the integrator for the SAP GTS E4H deployment (RFP)
- Identify the business value, risks and implementation prerequisites of the project
- Support deployment, migration and carve-out initiatives affecting Global Trade processes

Mission scope

- Take an active part in discussions with potential integrators
- Help the client define the plan and activities for the SAP GTS E4H implementation
- Lead fit-gap and solution design workshops
- Define target architecture principles and integration patterns




- Act as Business Analyst during the implementation phase, working closely with the other GTS experts
- Ensure alignment with SAP best practices, with standardisation as the priority

Consultant responsibilities

On the SAP GTS 11 scope currently in production, the consultant will:

- Provide functional and solution architecture expertise on the existing SAP GTS 11 environment
- Support design, build, testing and deployment activities
- Manage integrations between SAP ERP / SAP S/4HANA and SAP GTS
- Support data migration, master data and regulatory compliance activities
- Challenge implementation proposals from integrators and partners

Expected deliverables

- Business requirements translated into SAP GTS solution designs
- A roadmap and implementation plan for SAP GTS E4H
- Minutes of fit-gap and solution design workshops
- A definition of target architecture principles and Global Trade integration patterns
- Ongoing delivery support on the SAP GTS 11 environment (design, build, testing, deployment)

Qualifications

Education

- Master's degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information systems or logistics / supply chain. Hands-on SAP GTS experience matters more than the type of degree.

Required experience

- At least 8 years of experience on SAP Global Trade Services, including significant experience on SAP GTS 11
- Proven experience in General Trade transformation programmes or migrations to SAP GTS E4H / S/4HANA
- Experience leading or contributing to RFP phases and integrator selection
- Good knowledge of regulatory compliance issues in international trade
