Position: Static Equipment Lead Engineer

The Project

For a major greenfield industrial project in Antwerp, Belgium, we are looking for an experienced Static Equipment Lead Engineer to support the commissioning and start-up phase of the plant.

The commissioning team is responsible for the complete commissioning and start-up activities. As Static Equipment Lead Engineer, you will lead and coordinate commissioning activities related to static equipment and ensure that equipment and systems are ready for safe and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate commissioning activities related to static equipment.
- Coordinate commissioning engineers, supervisors, contractors and subcontractors within the discipline.
- Review static equipment and systems for commissioning readiness.
- Support system handover from construction to commissioning and from commissioning to operations.
- Coordinate inspections, testing and commissioning activities for static equipment.
- Support activities such as flushing, cleaning, pressure testing, leak testing and reinstatement where applicable.
- Review technical documentation, commissioning procedures and equipment records.




- Identify technical issues and coordinate troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Follow up on punch-list items and outstanding commissioning activities.
- Coordinate closely with construction, mechanical, piping, process, operations and other commissioning disciplines.
- Monitor commissioning progress and ensure activities are completed according to the project schedule.
- Support start-up activities and provide technical input during plant stabilization.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are performed in accordance with project specifications, procedures and HSE requirements.

Requirements

- Several years of experience in commissioning, pre-commissioning or start-up of large-scale industrial plants.
- Strong experience with static equipment in petrochemical, chemical, refinery, LNG or other process industry projects.
- Experience with equipment such as pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, tanks and associated static equipment.
- Proven experience in a lead or senior engineering/commissioning role.
- Good understanding of mechanical completion, system handover and commissioning processes.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and contractors in the field.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Practical, field-oriented approach.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Good command of English.
