We’re looking for a senior HR expert for a client in the biopharmaceutical sector. You’ll take ownership of complex sickness, reintegration, off-boarding and employee relations processes in Belgium, providing both legal expertise and practical guidance on sensitive cases.

Your responsibilities

- Lead reintegration pathways for employees on long-term work incapacity, working with employees, managers, occupational physicians and HR to develop suitable plans.
- Advise the business on dismissals, retirement, misconduct, mutual agreements and reorganisations.
- Calculate exit packages, prepare legal documentation, conduct exit conversations and negotiate with employees or union representatives where required.
- Handle employee relations cases, including conflicts, disciplinary matters and grievances.
- Act as the escalation point for complex cases and work with external legal advisers when needed.
- Monitor changes in Belgian social and labour legislation and translate them into clear policies, processes and guidance.




- Improve the management of sickness, work accidents, reintegration and off-boarding, including the use of digital tools and reporting.
- Train managers and HR colleagues on processes, legal obligations and ways of handling sensitive cases consistently.

Your profile

- 8–10+ years of HR experience, with proven expertise in Belgian sickness management, reintegration, termination and employee relations.
- Expert knowledge of Belgian social and labour law, including the rules relevant to incapacity and dismissal.
- Proven experience calculating exit packages, preparing legal documents and negotiating settlements.
- Confident handling difficult conversations with employees, business leaders and union representatives.
- Able to balance legal requirements, business needs and employee wellbeing with sound judgment and discretion.
- Experience improving HR processes or leading digital HR initiatives is a strong asset.
