Position: Cold Section Engineer

The Project

For a major greenfield industrial project in Antwerp, Belgium, we are looking for an experienced Cold Section Engineer to support the commissioning and start-up phase of the plant.

As Cold Section Engineer, you will support the preparation and execution of commissioning activities within the Cold Section and provide technical support during commissioning and start-up.

Responsibilities

- Support the commissioning and start-up of Cold Section systems and equipment.
- Prepare and execute commissioning activities in accordance with approved procedures.
- Review systems and equipment for commissioning readiness.
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and performance testing.
- Work closely with the Cold Section Lead and other commissioning disciplines.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, operations and contractors to resolve technical issues.
- Perform field inspections and verify equipment and systems prior to commissioning.
- Support troubleshooting and technical problem-solving during commissioning and start-up.
- Follow up on punch-list items and outstanding commissioning activities.




- Assist with system handover from construction to commissioning and from commissioning to operations.
- Monitor commissioning progress and report technical or execution issues.
- Coordinate with other process and commissioning disciplines to ensure proper system integration.
- Provide technical support during plant start-up and stabilization.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are performed safely and in accordance with project requirements.

Requirements

- Several years of relevant experience in commissioning, pre-commissioning or start-up of large-scale industrial plants.
- Experience within petrochemical, chemical, refinery, LNG or other process industry projects.
- Experience with cold section / cryogenic or low-temperature process systems is highly preferred.
- Good understanding of process plant commissioning and start-up.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary commissioning and field environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues during commissioning and start-up.
- Experience with system handover and preparation for operations.
- Practical, hands-on approach with a strong focus on safe execution.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Good command of English.
