Payroll Specialist – Barcelona
On behalf of our client a global leader in dermatology and skincare, we are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their Barcelona office on a temporary contract.
Location & working model Barcelona (fixed location, no travel). Hybrid: 3 days in the office / 2 days remote (from 1st January 2027, this moves to 4 days in the office per client's general policy).
Contract details
Duration: 3 months, with possible extension of the initial contract
Start date: ASAP (non-flexible)
Responsibilities
Implement People Solutions plans and programs, leveraging HR data to provide management-related information on workforce metrics, HR activities, efficiency, effectiveness and costs
Implement, execute and maintain general HR program/policy implementation, administration and compliance
Implement and execute specialised HR programs to continuously improve HR processes and procedures, and enhance the use of HR data for reporting, analytics and workforce planning
Support administration of processes linking HR programs to the HRIS
Coordinate payroll providers, mainly across the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands
Provide cross-functional support covering payroll, administration, employee queries, finance, HR, sales and office managers
Profile
Professional applying advanced knowledge typically gained through education and work experience, with 5-8 years of relevant experience
Works independently with limited supervision, owning processes within a specific area and contributing to process design and improvement
Comfortable resolving difficult and sometimes complex problems requiring detailed, specialised knowledge
May occasionally supervise or review the work of junior colleagues
Builds strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with stakeholders; able to present concepts to the functional community or leadership team and provide technical guidance to line managers and employees
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of specific experience as a Payroll Specialist (essential)
Fluent English required; Dutch is a plus
Experience with Workday, external provider coordination, SharePoint and document management
Intermediate level of Excel
Strong attention to detail, ability to manage strict deadlines, process-oriented mindset, accountability and tenacity
Adaptable profile, comfortable building structure from stakeholder input
