We are currently searching for a CEO to lead one of our container terminals in Spain. You'll run a container terminal as its top executive, accountable for safety, profitability, return on capital, and growth. You'll deliver efficient, high-quality operations for customers and shareholders, and build world-class operational, engineering, technical, and procurement capabilities within the local business.You report to the Board of Directors and lead a management team of COO,CTO, and CFO.Key responsibilities- Maintain a safe working environment across the terminal.- Reinforce the company's culture, values, and reputation, and ensure shareholder policies are applied at every level.- Define and execute the terminal's strategy in line with the shareholders' mission and vision.- Decide and deliver investments in new equipment, systems, and terminal expansion.- Pursue technology and systems development, locally and with the shareholders, to improve cost, productivity, and customer service.- Run the day-to-day business according to agreed operating principles.- Set business priorities around customer requirements.- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, cost management, and overheads across the organization.- Roll out best practices and the shareholders' general tools where available.- Negotiate and sign agreements with customers and suppliers, and own delivery against agreed service levels.- Represent the company with government, regulators, and port authorities,



and build strong relationships with local communities.- Set staffing levels and oversee recruitment, training, development, and career planning in line with legal and company requirements.- Recommend appointments and dismissals of direct reports, and remuneration for all staff, to the Board.- Identify and mitigate significant risks across operations, commercial, finance, strategy, and compliance.Experience- Senior executive experience in container terminal operations, with a proven record of delivering high terminal productivity and other key results.- Deep knowledge of marine terminal operations and the shipping and logistics industry.- Strong command of corporate finance.- Working knowledge of Spanish employment law, enough to set the right objectives for HR.Education- Master's degree or equivalent. An MBA or other advanced management degree is highly desirable.- Spanish: native or fluent, mandatory.- English: advanced, spoken and written.- Sound business judgment, with the ability to set direction and priorities.- Strong influencing and conflict-resolution skills, and the ability to build trust with government, communities, and other stakeholders.- Excellent planning, organizing, and people-management skills.- Analytical and interpersonal strength.- A collaborative, modern leadership style that builds teamwork.*Location in Spain disclosed during the process.#J-18808-Ljbffr
