Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to support the quality assurance and testing of enterprise, web, API, and data-driven applications.

The role combines strong hands-on test automation with functional, integration, mobile, E2E and non-functional testing. You will design and maintain automated test suites, prepare test scenarios and test data, execute tests across different platforms, investigate defects and collaborate closely with developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts and other stakeholders throughout the Agile development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and maintain comprehensive test plans, test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Identify suitable test cases for automation and develop reusable and maintainable automated test suites.
- Execute and maintain automated regression suites.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression and end-to-end (E2E) testing.
- Perform testing of web and mobile applications, including validation across relevant browsers, devices and platforms.
- Contribute to mobile test automation, including Android/iOS applications where applicable.
- Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
- Perform or contribute to performance/load, security, data-quality and other non-functional testing.
- Prepare and manage appropriate test data across environments and connected systems.
- Analyse test scope and risks and ensure adequate test coverage.
- Execute tests and document results with clear technical evidence, including logs and screenshots.
- Identify, report, track and follow up defects through resolution.




- Analyse failed automated tests and distinguish application defects from automation-script, device or environment issues.
- Provide clear reporting on test results, quality trends, open defects and release readiness.
- Contribute to Go/No-Go and release-readiness decisions from a quality perspective.
- Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams and contribute to continuous QA and automation improvement.

Test Automation & Mobile Testing Skills

- Strong hands-on test automation experience.
- Experience designing, implementing and maintaining automation frameworks and test suites.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Robot Framework.
- Programming or scripting capability, preferably Python.
- Experience with automated regression, integration and E2E testing.
- Experience with mobile application testing on Android and/or iOS.
- Exposure to mobile test automation tools such as Appium or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Ability to validate complete customer/user journeys across web, mobile, API and backend systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot automation failures using application/device logs, screenshots and other technical evidence.
- Strong understanding of API/Web Service testing and frontend/backend architecture.
- Experience incorporating automated testing into Agile/DevOps and CI/CD environments.
- Good understanding of automation principles including maintainability, reusability, scalability and test coverage.

Must-Have Skills

- Proven professional experience as a Test Automation Engineer / Automation Tester / QA Automation Engineer.
- Strong hands-on test automation and scripting/programming experience.
- Proven experience creating test plans, test designs, test cases and test scenarios.
- Strong experience with functional, integration,



regression and E2E testing.
- Practical experience with web and/or mobile application testing.
- Practical experience executing tests and managing the complete defect lifecycle.
- Good understanding of performance/non-functional testing concepts.
- Basic working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases and queries.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
- Ability to assess test scope, risks, requirements and test coverage.
- Understanding of APIs, Web Services, protocols, frontend/backend and client/server applications.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
- Strong stakeholder communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good professional English.
- Good professional command of Dutch and/or French.

Should-Have Skills

- Hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Robot Framework.
- Python scripting/programming for test automation.
- Mobile application testing across Android and/or iOS.
- Experience with Appium or another mobile automation framework.
- Experience with performance/load testing.
- Strong API and integration testing experience.

- Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka or other messaging technologies.
- Security testing exposure.
- Experience testing applications involving complex integrations or data platforms.
- Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing.
- Experience improving automation frameworks, QA standards and testing best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD-driven automated testing.
- Experience collaborating across multiple products, applications or development teams.
