We are looking for a motivated Real Estate Asset Management Associate to join our team and support the active management and performance optimization of a portfolio of retail assets. The successful candidate will assist in monitoring asset performance, identifying value‑creation opportunities, supporting investment decisions, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to help ensure the portfolio meets its strategic and financial objectives.

Location: Sonae Sierra Madrid offices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support Asset Management Team in managing and monitoring the performance of a portfolio of retail assets, ensuring alignment with approved business plans and investment objectives.
- Assist in the development, implementation and regular update of asset business plans and strategies, preparing the underlying financial and operational analysis.
- Monitor financial and operational performance (budgets, cash flow, revenues, costs and KPIs), consolidating data and preparing structured reports and dashboards in Excel.
- Contribute to the identification and assessment of opportunities to enhance asset value, improve operational efficiency and maximize returns, providing analytical support and scenario analysis.




- Prepare and review financial analyses, investment cases, budgets, forecasts and business plans in Excel, ensuring accuracy, consistency and clear structuring of information.
- Coordinate and follow up with property managers, leasing teams, technical advisors, legal advisors and other external consultants, ensuring that information, documentation and deadlines are properly managed.
- Monitoring of leasing activity, tenant performance, occupancy and rental income for retail assets, where applicable, preparing regular overview reports for Senior Asset Managers.
- Assist in the evaluation and execution of capital expenditure, refurbishment, development and repositioning projects, mainly through analysis, follow‑up of progress and preparation of supporting materials.
- Prepare regular asset and portfolio performance reports and presentations for senior management and investors.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to support asset‑level strategic decisions, collecting, organising, and summarising relevant information.
- Provide analytical and coordination support in acquisitions, disposals, refinancing and other investment‑related activities, under the guidance of Senior Asset Managers.
- Contribute to effective risk management by helping to identify, document and track potential operational, financial, and commercial risks and their impact on business plans.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, proper documentation and traceability of key decisions and agreements.
- Contribute to the preparation of investment committee materials and presentations, structuring models, analysis and charts in close collaboration with Senior Asset Managers.

Requirements:





- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business, Engineering , or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in asset management, real estate investment, investment management, property management, corporate finance or a related field, preferably with exposure to retail assets.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with financial modelling and investment analysis in Excel (scenario analysis, sensitivity checks, basic cash flow modelling, use of pivot tables and charting).
- Very good command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience preparing executive presentations and reports; familiarity with think‑cell or similar tools to automate charts and layouts is a strong plus.
- Interest in and ability to use AI‑based tools to support analysis, improve workflows and enhance the quality of presentations and reports.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, with a structured approach to work, ability to plan and follow up on tasks, manage documentation and keep deadlines under control in a multi‑asset environment.
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to coordinate different stakeholders and track actions, escalating issues and key decisions to Senior Asset Managers when required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external advisors.
- Commercial mindset and ability to identify and document value creation opportunities, translating them into clear analysis and actionable insights for Senior Asset Managers.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are considered an advantage.
