We are looking for a talented Senior Controls Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Accelera Business sector in Guadalajara, Spain.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

- Design, develop, and optimize control systems that improve manufacturing performance, reliability, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Lead the development, testing, validation, and commissioning of controls hardware and software solutions for new and existing equipment.
- Investigate complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve system performance.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and support PLC-based control systems, ensuring equipment operates safely and according to specification.
- Drive factory automation initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes through innovative control technologies and machine programming.
- Develop and implement controls networking solutions that enable seamless communication between equipment, manufacturing systems, and data platforms.
- Promote controls system security by reviewing and approving designs that protect manufacturing equipment and operational technology environments.
- Mentor and coach less experienced Controls Engineers, sharing technical expertise and supporting the development of engineering capability across the team.

Responsibilities

- Strong knowledge of controls engineering principles, including PLC programming, electrical control systems, automation technologies, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex controls, electrical, sensor,



and automation issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, ensuring all solutions align with operational, environmental, and business objectives.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Intermediate level of relevant experience in controls engineering, industrial automation, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Fluent in English and Spanish is mandatory
- Experience developing, implementing, and supporting PLC-based control systems and factory automation solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems, sensors, actuators, and manufacturing equipment.
- This position may require eligibility for licensing or compliance with export controls and sanctions regulations.
