King operates mobile games at a massive scale. King operates mobile games at a massive scale. In the role of Game Engine Developer , you'll be at the heart of our tech, evolving the cross-platform engine and toolchain that empowers hundreds of developers to build King's world-class casual games.

This role belongs to part of the Kingdom we call Shared Tech. The teams within Shared Tech work as B2B organizations working across all the technology that we use to power our live games, including data infrastructure, machine learning, payments infrastructure and the game engines themselves. The vision within Shared Tech is "We are the stage where King games love to perform".

You will be working in Shared Tech's Game Production organization, where we focus on game-changing tooling and infrastructure to enable our content creators to build features faster, easier and more reliably. The ability to see the project as a whole is crucial as you monitor the development in real‐time to determine how we should support and assist the rest of the development team. You'll also play a key role in improving our feedback loop, making it easier for teams to adopt tools and for our team to learn what's working (or not).

Develop the game engine, refine new and existing features, and design, implement, and maintain in-house tools embedded directly within our products. Collaborate with various current and future users of our Game Engine, bridging various crafts within King with the intent to optimize,



improve and discover workflows across games Deliver high quality and well‐structured code Improve quality and performance inside our products landscape Share knowledge and best practices with peers and game teams Drive and support features adoption with stakeholders in the game teams across King Strong C++ knowledge and experience Python knowledge with experience Experienced with testing, automation and continuous integration Experience with performance‐critical software is a bonus High sense of code quality and polish and the desire to build and maintain a high‐quality code base Windows and OSX Experience with game editor extension systems (e.g., Unity Editor scripting, Unreal Editor tooling, or custom C++/Qt editor frameworks) Familiarity with using observability tools, for example Sentry or Grafana Experience with Cloud frameworks / technologies (GCP, Docker, k8s etc) In Shared Tech, our team is focused on supporting multiple game teams with high quality tools.
