As a Global Transportation Manager (m/f/d), you will take the lead in building and shaping our newly established global transportation function. Based in Madrid, you will define the global transportation strategy and operating model, establish our Logistics Control Tower, and drive greater visibility, resilience, and cost efficiency across our international transportation network. Working closely with regional supply chain teams and key functions across the organization, you will play a pivotal role in transforming and digitalizing transportation at Straumann Group while building scalable capabilities that support our continued growth.

Your responsibilities

Transportation Strategy & Governance

Build and lead the new global transportation function, taking ownership of the transportation strategy, governance, standards, and operating principles

Define the target operating model and develop transportation roadmaps aligned with our end-to-end Supply Chain and GLD strategy

Establish clear governance and KPI review routines while monitoring freight cost development, service quality, and relevant business priorities

Act as the key subject matter expert for intercompany/primary transportation, network performance, service resilience, and cost transparency

Logistics Control Tower

Lead the design, build, and stabilization of the Logistics Control Tower (LCT), covering organizational design, workflows, service catalogue, escalation model, and operating routines

Establish standards for milestone tracking and visibility, as well as playbooks and case management processes for effective end-to-end shipment exception management

Partner with IT, SAP/TMS, Data, and Analytics teams to implement the required digital capabilities, interfaces, dashboards, and reporting solutions

Build capabilities, standardized ways of working,



and training programs to enable sustainable adoption across the LCT and regional teams

Transportation Partners, Performance & Cost

Define transportation service models, routing principles, carrier segmentation, preferred provider setups, backup solutions, and requirements for transportation tenders

Manage the performance of carriers and logistics service providers through scorecards, business reviews, escalations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives

Take ownership of freight management principles, cost-to-serve, analytics standards, and transportation KPI performance across the global network

Develop carrier risk management and business continuity strategies and ensure resilient transportation structures, including contingency solutions for specific lanes and regulated goods flows

Support transportation procurement activities in close collaboration with Procurement and Finance

Transformation, Digitalization & Continuous Improvement

Drive transportation network optimization, process standardization, automation, and the TMS and LCT roadmap while improving reporting automation and data quality

Identify and implement initiatives to improve service quality, lead times, carrier reliability, visibility, and freight cost performance

Support broader logistics transformation programs, including S/4HANA, transportation management capabilities, and the evolution of the operating model

Translate integral and regional business requirements into scalable transportation solutions that deliver measurable value

Support Straumann Group's sustainability and Net Zero ambitions through relevant transportation initiatives

Regional Collaboration & Leadership

Support regional Supply Chain teams through standards, visibility, escalation routines, and improvement forums, while local import/export execution and last-mile management remain within the regions

Lead global and regional transportation forums and coordinate major transportation incidents, capacity constraints, delayed shipment escalations, and other time-critical situations





Define strategic guardrails for intra-regional intercompany transportation and ensure effective alignment between global design and regional execution

Recruit, lead, coach, and develop the Logistics Control Tower team, establishing clear objectives and accountabilities while building long-term capabilities and succession plans

Build effective partnerships across regions, functions, and external partners, and represent the transportation function in discussions with senior stakeholders

Your profile

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field

Extensive experience in transportation, logistics, distribution, or supply chain roles with increasing leadership responsibility; as a guide, the original role profile indicates more than 10 years of relevant experience

Demonstrated experience leading transportation organizations in a regional or global environment

Strong experience managing international transportation networks, logistics service providers, and carrier performance, as well as transportation spend and service levels across multiple geographies

Experience leading transportation transformation, digitalization, and automation initiatives

Hands-on knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), SAP, analytics and reporting tools, and digital transportation solutions

Strong project/program management, stakeholder management, and change management skills

Excellent written and spoken English
