Job purpose:

This role is responsible for coordinating and technically guiding the Protection Assistants team to ensure the effective implementation of protection activities within the resource. The purpose is to guarantee the correct application of IOM standards and procedures, provide timely support to residents, and manage complex protection cases. The position contributes to identifying vulnerabilities, improving protection responses, and ensuring comprehensive support for residents by coordinating with internal and external services. It also involves reporting on protection activities and contributing to the team's professional development.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate, supervise, and provide technical guidance to the Protection Assistants team, ensuring the correct implementation of protection activities according to IOM standards and procedures. Organize daily tasks, ensuring adequate coverage of protection services and timely attention to residents. Oversee vulnerability and needs assessments, ensuring quality and correct application of identification criteria. Provide technical support and accompaniment for complex cases, especially those involving high vulnerability or specific needs. Ensure effective identification, referral,



and follow-up mechanisms, coordinating with internal and external entities. Monitor sensitive cases, ensuring appropriate interventions and risk mitigation. Report protection incidents and emerging risks immediately to supervisors. Conduct regular quality checks on case files and records, ensuring completeness and adherence to procedures. Ensure accurate collection, registration, and updating of information in management tools. Identify trends and vulnerabilities, recommending improvements to protection responses. Prepare technical reports, periodic reports, statistics, and follow-up information. Facilitate regular coordination and case management meetings with the team. Contribute to the training and professional development of the Protection Assistants team. Promote compliance with protection principles, confidentiality, data protection, and non-discrimination. Coordinate closely with other center teams for a comprehensive response.

Education:

University degree in Psychology, Law, Social Sciences, or a related protection field is required. A Master's degree in a related field is considered an additional asset.

Work experience:

Four years of relevant professional experience is required. Experience in coordinating and communicating with governmental and diplomatic authorities, as well as international institutions, is necessary. Experience working in multicultural environments is also required.

Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications. Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise correspondence in English. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, writing, and presentation skills. xqbhyrx Excellent spreadsheet and database management skills, including experience with web-based management systems.
