About the Role

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that every guest room reflects the elegance, comfort, and quality expected at Grand Hyatt Barcelona. You will supervise and guide the housekeeping team, oversee daily room operations, and collaborate with other departments to guarantee a seamless and outstanding guest experience. We are seeking someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and support a diverse team in a fast‑paced luxury environment.

Main Responsibilities

- Supervise the cleaning and preparation of guest rooms, ensuring compliance with Hyatt and Grand Hyatt brand standards.
- Conduct detailed room inspections and follow up on quality or maintenance issues.
- Ensure the correct and efficient use of cleaning materials and equipment by room attendants.
- Coordinate daily task assignments, support team members, and provide on‑the‑spot coaching.
- Communicate effectively with Engineering, Front Office, and other departments to ensure rooms are ready on time.
- Maintain accurate records of productivity, occupancy needs, and room status updates.
- Uphold safety, hygiene, and sustainability standards in all housekeeping procedures.
- Support training, onboarding, and continuous skill development for the housekeeping team.
- Foster a culture of service excellence, teamwork, and respect within the department.

Qualifications

1-2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related field, ideally in a supervisory or coordinator role.

Strong organizational, multitasking, and time‑management abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

High attention to detail and a strong focus on quality and guest satisfaction.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proven verbal and written communication skills.

English and Spanish required.

Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred experience with hotel systems such as HotSOS, Opera, and Colleague Advantage.

Essential Responsible Areas

1. Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating routine safety meetings, performing routine safety inspections, and investigating accidents, as required.
2. Supports development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the safety culture efforts, food safety system and lean practices. Proactively perform risk assessments and hazard identifications.
3. Provides leadership and supervision to the plant warehouse function as directed. Coaches, develops and manages performance for direct reports, including writing and delivering performance feedback and appraisals, administering discipline in accordance with plant and company policies. Supports all root‑cause analysis investigations. Monitors and ensures the accuracy of all warehouse hourly labor timekeeping, data entry, including overtime schedules, if applicable.
4. Provides direct support to all departments in the plant via material handling, as needed.

Facilitates the transportation of inbound and outbound shipments of products and materials including finished product and scrap including yard management if applicable.
6. Reviews, completes, and ensures the accuracy of warehouse related documents and shipments. Maintains and reports inventory accuracy, aging, HFI, status of finished goods, as well as packaging, dunnage, and raw materials of the plant and external warehouse.
7. Ensures that all forklifts and warehouse equipment are properly maintained.
8. Facilitates training for subordinates, including administering forklift training and orientation to regular and contingent personnel, as required.
9. Maintains good housekeeping in the plant warehouse, external warehouses and related areas including yard management if applicable.
10. Communicates with customers, outside warehouses and freight carriers to respond to customer orders, requests for information, quality or delivery issues, operational audits, regular engagement meetings, manage obsolete/slow‑moving FG mgmt., provide guidance on JDE system set‑up or issues and storage of finishedgoods. Includes ownership of Transportation Management System.
11. May provide backup for positions that may include production control, and/or scheduler.
12. Initiates, reviews, masters, and follows all manuals, policies, procedures, and work instructions for area of responsibility.
13. Establishes and maintains an employee relations climate of trust and confidence that will discourage third party interference; or establishes and maintains an employee relations climate of trust and confidence with employees, their union stewards and representatives which will promote achievement of plant and company goals.
14. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.
15. While the regular working cycle of this position is usually 5 days on (Monday‑Friday), this job may include working weekends (Saturday and Sunday); working hours may vary as specified by management. Incumbent must be able to be on call as directed by management.

Education, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work‑related experience.
- Job related experience for 2 year(s) minimum.
- Supervisory experience leading a team of direct reports, preferred.
- Written English skills.
- Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard plant warehousing techniques, procedures, and criteria.
