Experteer Overview
As Data Architect you will define and own the discovery and access layer of a platform for scientific data, shaping how data is registered, discovered, and served across products, workflows, and AI agents. You will specify service boundaries, contracts, and integration patterns, while staying hands-on through design reviews and proof-of-concept work. You’ll collaborate with engineering, product, and governance leads to evolve catalog, search, and data access capabilities in a cloud/hybrid environment. This role offers impact across data governance, modernizations, and scalable data platforms.

Compensaciones / Ventajas
• Define target state for catalog and access paths, including contracts and integration patterns
• Own schemas and contracts for catalog records, subgraph boundaries, and data service views
• Design AI-access paths with provenance controls and read capabilities
• Review integrations against contracts and governance requirements; adjust as needed
• Plan modernization paths from on-premises to cloud/hybrid while maintaining customer continuity
• Set performance targets for queries and indexes in catalog and access paths




• Design data pipelines for catalog, search index, and access views with backfill and recovery
• Collaborate with engineering to clarify designs, evaluate plans, and review implemented work
• Create decision records and diagrams to communicate tradeoffs to engineers, PMs, and stakeholders

Responsabilidades
• 8+ years in software engineering, data engineering, or architecture with distributed systems
• Proven track record of architectural decision-making and governance
• Experience owning architecture for production systems in data catalogs/metadata, search and indexing, API/federated-query layers, or data science/lab/regulatory domains
• Proficiency in SQL with PostgreSQL or SQL Server
• Experience building and operating data pipelines with recovery/backfill
• Ability to read production code in typed languages and build proofs of concept
• Familiarity with AI-enabled data work and drafting decision records
