Join New Relic to architect, build, and run high-scale JVM-based microservices that ingest and analyze massive telemetry data for an observability platform. You will own services end-to-end, optimize for performance and reliability, and contribute to deep observability and incident response in a fast-growing, AI-first environment. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable customer outcomes and advance our mission to empower engineering teams with real-time insight. Responsabilidades

- Design, build, and operate JVM-based microservices (Java/Kotlin) with emphasis on performance and scalability
- Own services end-to-end including architecture, deployment, monitoring, on-call participation, and continuous improvement
- Apply concurrency and performance practices: asynchronous programming, backpressure, efficient I/O, memory management, GC tuning
- Build and evolve event-driven systems using Kafka (streaming, partitioning, consumer groups, schema evolution)




- Instrument services for observability (metrics, logs, traces), define SLIs/SLOs
- Design REST/gRPC APIs and resilience patterns (timeouts, retries, circuit breakers)
- Operate production services: monitoring, alerting, incident response, postmortems
- Automate CI/CD, testing, and operational tasks to improve developer productivity
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and cross-functional teams; mentor peers and contribute to standards

Requisitos principales

- Strong experience building production-grade backend services on the JVM (Java and/or Kotlin)
- Understanding of xkdbapo distributed systems concepts (consistency, partitioning, replication, fault tolerance) and microservice design
- Hands-on experience with asynchronous/reactive programming (CompletableFuture, Project Reactor, RxJava, Kotlin coroutines)

- Strong communication skills
- Collaborative mindset and ability to write design docs
- Mentorship and leadership in reliability and performance initiatives
- Java and/or Kotlin
- JVM performance tuning and profiling (JFR, async-profiler, JMH)
- Kafka and streaming patterns (topic/partition strategy, idempotency, schema compatibility)
