Job purpose:

This role supports the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in its mission to manage migration challenges and promote human dignity. The position contributes to the operational efficiency of the organization by ensuring the proper maintenance of facilities. By assisting with daily maintenance tasks, identifying technical issues, and managing supplies, the role directly supports IOM's commitment to providing a safe and functional environment for its operations and staff. This support is crucial for the organization's ability to effectively address migration issues and uphold the well-being of migrants and the community.

Responsibilities:





The primary responsibilities of this role involve assisting in the monitoring of facility conditions and supporting daily maintenance activities. This includes identifying and reporting potential technical problems, aiding in routine inspections, and ensuring the appropriate and effective use of supplies and consumables to prevent overstocking or loss. The role also requires providing technical specifications for equipment and goods needed for daily repairs. Additionally, the position entails performing any other assigned tasks to support the maintenance and operational needs of the facilities.

Education:

A secondary school diploma is required, along with three years of relevant work experience. A university degree in a related field is considered an advantage. Professional knowledge in building maintenance, facilities management, or similar disciplines is also beneficial.

Work experience:

At least three years of prior relevant work experience is required. Experience working in a multicultural environment is beneficial. Immediate availability and the ability to work in an emergency response operational setting are highly valued. xcskxlj

Skills:

Strong work ethic, commitment to humanitarian principles, computer literacy (MS Office), knowledge of electrical and/or hydraulic maintenance, ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
