Job purpose:

This role supports the efficient and dignified distribution of essential non-food items (NFIs) and other relief goods within a reception center. The Project Assistant ensures that distribution processes are orderly, adhere to vulnerability criteria, and follow established procedures. This involves meticulous record-keeping, inventory management, and clear communication with beneficiaries regarding upcoming distributions. The position contributes to the overall operational effectiveness of IOM's humanitarian assistance programs, ensuring that vulnerable migrants and refugees receive necessary support in a timely and respectful manner, upholding the organization's commitment to human dignity and well-being.

Responsibilities:





The Project Assistant is responsible for supporting the organization, management, and distribution of essential non-food items, including hygiene kits, clothing, food, and water. This includes ensuring distribution processes are efficient, orderly, dignified, and aligned with vulnerability criteria and established procedures. Key duties involve accurately completing distribution lists and assisting with the tracking and updating of stock inventory as needed. The role also includes helping to inform beneficiaries about upcoming distribution schedules. Any other assigned functions are also part of the responsibilities, ensuring comprehensive support for the project's operational needs.

Education:

A minimum of a secondary school diploma is required. A university degree from an accredited academic institution with relevant work experience is considered an advantage.

Work experience:

Relevant work experience is considered an advantage. Experience working in a multicultural environment and with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees is beneficial. xcskxlj
