Overview

In this role you will own plant improvement projects from concept to implementation at Unilever’s Leioa site. You’ll design and lead engineering initiatives that boost efficiency, safety, and operations, collaborating with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and external partners. You will gain exposure to global engineering networks and develop project leadership within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role offers hands-on impact on the factory floor and opportunities to advance within Unilever’s engineering network. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable improvements and share best practices across sites.

Responsabilidades

- Lead improvement projects from definition through delivery, including scope, resources, schedules, and execution plans
- Drive change management with structured, well-documented implementations
- Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to develop safety and regulatory compliance plans
- Oversee daily project execution, approve permits, and own technical and safety aspects
- Manage project budgets and monitor CAPEX against plans
- Support governance processes, including project prioritization and cross-functional coordination




- Design installations that meet multi-department needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Communicate technical requirements clearly to suppliers and lead alignment discussions
- Coordinate multiple complex projects with production schedules, shutdowns, safety, and quality needs
- Share knowledge with other Unilever sites and global engineering teams

Requisitos principales

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial/manufacturing environments
- Ability to grow into project leadership and manage projects independently
- Working knowledge of P&ID;, Microstation, AutoCAD, and MS Office tools
- Experience managing engineering improvement projects, CAPEX investments, or related initiatives (preferred)
- Strong understanding of safety requirements and engineering best practices in manufacturing
- Excellent project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, hands-on approach balancing shop floor presence with technical planning
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines
- Advanced English written and spoken for communication with international suppliers and global teams
