Job purpose: This role is crucial for supporting the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in its mission to manage migration effectively and humanely. The position contributes to the organization's efforts in addressing operational challenges, enhancing the understanding of migration-related issues, and promoting socio-economic development through migration. By ensuring accurate reporting and efficient project implementation, the role directly supports IOM's commitment to upholding the dignity and well-being of migrants. The position plays a key part in facilitating the organization's work with various partners, contributing to the overall goal of ensuring human and orderly migration benefits both migrants and society, while adhering to IOM's principles of diversity and inclusion.
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities include preparing periodic and specific project reports for donors, the mission, regional offices, or headquarters. This involves guiding data collection and monitoring project indicators in coordination with the Information Management Coordinator. The role requires coordinating with program staff to ensure constant monitoring of implementation, compliance with grant agreements, and project documentation.
It also involves supporting visibility activities within projects. Maintaining a centralized digital and physical filing system for beneficiary, project, database, contract, and other relevant information is essential, ensuring order, accessibility, and security. The position supports the integration of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E;) frameworks and tools, assists in supervision to ensure correct project component implementation, identifies problems, and proposes corrective measures. Additionally, the role involves researching, drafting, and presenting necessary documentation for project execution and reporting, supporting coordination with competent authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and other relevant actors, and maintaining accurate records of correspondence and project-related documentation.
Education: A completed university degree from an accredited institution in Political or Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Relations, Communications, Law, or a related field is required. This should be accompanied by five years of relevant professional experience in report-writing activities.
Work experience: Progressive experience in similar functions is required. Experience working in international organizations, NGOs, or governmental institutions, preferably in multicultural settings, is desirable. Experience in coordinating and communicating with governmental and diplomatic authorities, as well as international institutions, is also valued.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and management software (including ORACLE). Demonstrated ability to draft clear and concise correspondence in English. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent skills in preparing statistical charts, tables, and reports.
