Quality Assurance Engineer

Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to support the development and implementation of quality management processes within a leading European electricity transmission operator.

Responsibilities

- Develop, implement and maintain a Quality Management framework, including procedures, quality plans, tools, guidelines and reporting processes.
- Conduct supplier and factory quality audits, reviewing manufacturing processes and compliance with quality requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for HV equipment, including transformers and cable systems.
- Develop and implement quality control plans for the manufacturing, testing and site installation of high-voltage equipment.
- Manage supplier non-conformities, corrective action plans and quality improvement initiatives throughout project delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance through quality dashboards, KPIs, inspection reports and factory performance evaluations.
- Coordinate external inspectors and ensure effective follow-up of factory and site inspection activities.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, project management, maintenance and asset management teams to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Maintain and improve technical documentation, quality records and document exchange processes using SharePoint and other document management systems.




- Map and improve internal quality processes, including departmental responsibilities, workflows, reporting and quality governance.

Requirements

- Technical or engineering qualification, or equivalent relevant experience in quality assurance within an engineering or industrial environment.
- Experience in Supplier Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Quality Management or QA/QC.
- Knowledge of high-voltage primary equipment, particularly HV cable systems, transformers, switchgear or overhead-line equipment.
- Experience with supplier audits, manufacturing quality control, FAT/SAT inspections and non-conformity management.
- Experience developing and implementing Quality Management Systems, procedures, quality control plans and process improvements.
- Ability to coordinate suppliers, manufacturers, external inspectors and internal engineering stakeholders.
- Experience with technical documentation, document control systems, quality reporting and KPI monitoring.
- Knowledge of business process mapping and the development of workflows, procedures and responsibilities.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to technical detail and the ability to work independently.
- Good written and spoken English. Dutch and/or French is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to travel to supplier facilities across Europe and project installations throughout Belgium.
