Job description and tasks

The position focuses on providing research, methodological and technical support to the INTERMAPS project, particularly in relation to the use, implementation and further development of the Relief Maps+ digital platform. The research assistant will work under the supervision of Maria Rodó-Zárate and will be based in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona).

Specific tasks:

Provide methodological support for the application of the Relief Maps methodology in different research contexts.





Liaise with computer scientists and technical developers involved in the maintenance and development of the platform, supporting testing, troubleshooting and follow-up.

Contribute to user support, documentation and the preparation of guides, tutorials, videos and other materials related to Relief Maps+.

Assist with research activities conducted within the INTERMAPS project, including data-related tasks, preparation of research materials and support for project outputs.

Support the planning, coordination and logistics of workshops, seminars, training sessions and other project activities.

Contribute to the dissemination and communication of INTERMAPS activities and research outputs, including the preparation of digital and audiovisual materials.

Provide organisational and research support for other activities related to the implementation of the INTERMAPS project.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Gender Studies or other related Social Science disciplines.

Experience in research assistance and in the implementation of research projects.

Experience with the Relief Maps methodology and/or the Relief Maps+ digital platform, including its application in research contexts.

Experience working with technical or software development teams,



including the ability to communicate research and user needs and contribute to testing and follow-up of digital tools.

Experience in the organization and coordination of research activities, workshops, training sessions or academic events.

Ability to prepare research, dissemination and audiovisual materials.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage different tasks simultaneously.

Excellent command of English, Catalan and Spanish.

Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.

Part-time position: The position is a part-time contract, 20h per week, from the 1st of November 2026. The expected duration of the tasks is 10 months

Terms and conditions of the contract:

Gross annual salary for a part-time contract is: 22 251.72€ approx. with an approx gross monthly salary of 1601€.

The labour contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
