Technical Support Engineer (Contract)

Anyone can keep a streaming platform running on a quiet Tuesday afternoon.

Very few engineers can find the fault and fix it at 3am while thousands of viewers are staring at a frozen screen.

- Leading IPTV / OTT service provider
- Real ownership of live service stability and incident resolution
- Hands-on work across headend, delivery and monitoring in a 24/7 production environment

You'll be joining a live video operations team that keeps IPTV and OTT services running for large subscriber bases. You'll be the person who knows the headend, reads the monitoring, and restores service fast when something breaks.

What You'll Be Working On

- Monitoring and supporting live IPTV and OTT services end to end
- Leading incident response, from first alert through root cause and resolution
- Troubleshooting issues across encoding, packaging, origin, CDN and client playback
- Working with video headend systems, including encoders, transcoders, multiplexers and packagers
- Using monitoring and probing tools to find stream, signal and QoS problems early




- Taking part in a 24/7 on-call rota to protect service availability
- Writing clear incident reports and feeding lessons back into operational processes
- Working closely with network, platform and vendor support teams

Tech Environment

- IPTV / OTT delivery architectures
- Video headend: encoding, transcoding, multiplexing, packaging
- HLS / MPEG-DASH / MPEG-TS
- Multicast and unicast delivery
- Video monitoring and probing tools
- CDN and origin infrastructure

What You'll Bring

- Proven experience as an engineer in IPTV or OTT environments
- Strong incident management and structured troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with video headend technologies and monitoring tools
- Composure under pressure in live, customer-impacting situations
- Availability to join a 24/7 on-call rota
