Senior C++ Software Engineer – Hardware-Connected Systems

Barcelona, Spain | Hybrid – typically 2 days onsite per week

We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on C++ engineer who enjoys developing Windows software, working close to real hardware and solving challenging integration and performance problems.

You’ll join the Barcelona R&D; team of a large, established general technology company, developing software for complex, high‑performance hardware systems within a long‑term engineering programme.

The role combines application and system‑level development with device communication, hardware interfaces and data processing.



It would suit someone who enjoys understanding how the complete system works and investigating problems across software and hardware boundaries.

What You’ll Work On

- Develop and maintain modern C++ software, primarily using C++17
- Build Windows applications and system components that communicate with specialised devices and hardware
- Develop multithreaded software and improve performance, reliability and data handling
- Investigate integration issues across application code, interfaces, drivers and connected equipment
- Work with technologies including PCIe and Ethernet for high‑speed data
